May 21, 1999

M2 PRESSWIRE : * Complete voice and data solution for SME Sector

Siemens Communications Limited is launching HiNet Office, a complete voice and data solution for small and mid-size companies. HiNet Office will be previewed on stand at Dealer Expo 99 and will be available for selected Siemens partners looking to strengthen their position in
convergence.

HiNet Office is the first fruit of Siemens' partnership with 3Com, bringing together the leading company in the world for PBX's and the number one for LAN hubs and switches. HiNet is based around fully featured PBX and LAN equipment and guarantees users seamless interworking of combined applications. In addition, HiNet offers a clear migration path to further voice, video and data opportunities including Voice over IP and LAN based videoconferencing.

With HiNet Office, Siemens offers customers an easy to install solution where all wiring is contained within one rack. The cost of ownership is kept down as HiNet enables integrated remote management for both voice and data and allows for easy wiring for moves and changes.

Users will benefit from lower charges across the organisation as existing ISDN lines share voice and data and Internet access for multiple users become available. Network management tools allow the seamless connection of LANs located at different sites and external offices gain access to central files. Remote access to the corporate LAN is also available for home workers giving access to normal services such as databases, email, PC programmes and printers from a distance.

Full Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) and Teleprocessing are also supported within the HINet environment.

In addition, HiNet Office offers least cost routing and billing for data as well as voice. Other benefits include faster data access for users and a high level of telephone security using firewall
technology. Using HiNet no special routers or servers are needed to achieve these and other services.

Siemens Communications Limited, one of the UK's leading telecommunications; suppliers. offers a full choice of technology solutions from simple telephony through to full network outsourcing.
