Well, if I had still had shares AND had been following the stock more closely, I would have been selling...cause the first month that I ever started investing heavily a few years back, a stock I was in did a spin off and at that time I learned that the date of record was not important, only the ex dividend date mattered.

So, I guess those who knew that silently exited, waiting to hear about the ex dividend date.
