I see so much on this thread about the 16-64 transistion. Lets face it; If I don't need or want a computer with 64M of main memory as a minimum, and I think I am in the majority, there is no way the chip companies are going to force the cross over. If the computer buyers don't want the capacity, then the 64M price crossover will occur sooner rather than later since the 16M price will remain stable but the 64 will drop with increasing "over capacity", but the volumes will not flip flop. Those in 64 will be amortizing big fabs on a part that is harder to make, and yields less dollars per bit than a 16....The only feasible reason to push that would be if you have some technological advantage, or have a paradigm shift in your manufacturing that allows you to go under the cost per bit curve.
