Yes Michael, but it also means the Japanese and Koreans have an excuse to raise 16Mbit DRAM prices in Europe. Up until now, no one wanted to be the first to raise prices. That is what has kept contract prices pretty stable and far below spot market prices. But now, this may be the signal that the DRAM manufacturers can use to synchronize their price increases. It might also result in increased upward price pressure in the short term worldwide.
