Whether it would have happened to anyone else is open to dispute. Another party might very well have handled the politics somewhat better and not been put in the position Bre-x found themselves. The pomposity you speak of lies in the hands of Bre-x. If they hadn't been so pompous they might have faired better.

As far as being out manouvered I would say that being ordered to do a deal with Barrick by the government is being out manouvered. Having Freeport pushed down their throat by Hasan and the governmnent is being out manouvered. Certainly 45% is better than 25% ( and they wouldn't have gotten that much with Barrick)however, my point is that Bre-x is now just another stock. The mine has been discovered - the speculation is over. Next step is production and cash flow. Stock should move on cash flow. Between now and then this stock is going to bounce around on technical ups and downs just like we have seen the last few days. There is nothing special about this deal anymore.

I do not consider myself superior but of a different opinion which to me is the whole point of these threads. When someone makes a stupid comment suggesting that the Canadian media was part of a conspiracy acting in concert with Barrick I find it difficult not to comment on the absurdity of the suggetion.

Bre-x made mistakes. I was told of them last July and ignored them.
My source lives in Jakarta and it was not a secret there that Bre-x had some problems with their COW's. Because of that the door was opened for the Barrick's, Freeport's and Hasan's to step in and apply the pressure.

For my money move on. Find another junior with excellent results on surface because there will certainly be other big winners there this year.
