Exactly right. We enforce a rule which says that there is a substitution rule - if they go to Toys'R'Us for a ball and see another toy they want, it must be (a) about the same price as the ball and (b) they can get the new choice or the ball but not both. This sometimes works. An inevitable side effect is that they see something which becomes the object of desire and even days later they will be working to "cut a deal" to get the new toy.
