I have to say sponsoring an Indy Racing League (IRL) car at this years INDY 500 is very exciting.

I did some research on the team ISM racing and here is a few bits of information I found on the IRL website: indyracingleague.com

DRIVER:

Brian Tyler

Birthdate: Oct. 27, 1967, Albion, Mich.
Residence: Anderson, Ind.
Ht./Wt.: 5-11/200
Marital status: Single

1998 was Brian's IRL rookie year and he had a busy year. He completed 1,473 laps, second among Pep Boys Indy Racing League rookies only to Sprint PCS Rookie of the Year Robby Unser.

Enjoys water skiing, working on vintage cars, deer hunting, pool.

Hopefully someone from Microphonics will introduce the product to him. Since he enjoys working on vintage cars I'm sure it would be of use to him.

OWNER

BOB HANCHER and GARY SALLEE

Motorsports executive Bob Hancher and Indianapolis attorney Gary Sallee teamed up in 1998 to form ISM Racing. Hancher has spent more than 10 years in the auto racing industry, mostly in open-wheel competition. His first exposure to the sport came when the Indianapolis Motor Speedway purchased garage doors for Gasoline Alley from Raynor, for which he was a marketing executive. Raynor eventually started its own Indy-style team, and Hancher was president of the effort.

In 1997, Hancher was co-owner and managing partner for FirstPlus Team Cheever, which won the Indy 200 with Eddie Cheever Jr., and finished third at Indianapolis with Jeff Ward. With his ISM Racing partnership, Hancher also finished third at Indy in 1998, with Steve Knapp driving. Ward and Knapp won Bank One Rookie of the Year honors in 1997 and 1998, respectively.

It looks like to me that the ISM racing owners are used to success. Success at the INDY 500, THE GREATEST SPECTACLE IN RACING, will bring excellent exposure to MRPS.

Below is the ISM racing website. It is not functional at this tiem which is too bad. It would have been nice to see if Microphonics were listed there.

Qualifying is still going on and the field is set today. Lets hope that ISM and Brian Tyler can get that car up to speed and make the line up.
