Jim - Re: "So the 6 layer .18u coppermine will outperform the 5 layer .18u Dixon, clock for clock, same bus speed, on non-SSE apps?
How much?"

Probably not - but it will be CHEAPER !

The Coppermine is a relatively small die - for Intel - at only 109 sq. mm. - smaller than the 0.25 micron Kmart 63 at 118 sq. mm. and A LOT SMALLER than the Kflop 7 at 184 sq. mm.

CLock for clock - the Coppermine and Dixon should perform nearly identical on non-SSE applications.
