pt:

Congress put restrictions on acquiring companies being able to utilize NOL's of acquisitions (NOL's generated prior to acquisition) back in 87. Without knowing SEEQ's carryforward, it would be tax footnote of the financial statement, I'd say its not worth much.

To utilitize SEEQ will have to generate profits. From a GAAP perspective LSI may be able to utilize the NOL earlier than it is actually realized on a tax return (deferred tax basis vs. current tax basis).
