Thanks very much, Paul: I ended up uninstalling and reloading
everything to get it working.

However, I downloaded Netscape per Joe's suggestion and avoided
IE which, I think, is probably a good one to steer clear from.

Yes, I think that "BOY DOES MSFT HAVE A PROBLEM HERE!!!!!!" just
about says it all--three major security flaws in a browser that's
only been out a few months and, to make matters worse, they had
to get discovered by some college kids and not the Redmond genii
(is that the plural for genius or is it the plural for s.......s?).

Strangely enough, the press that MSFT got over that stuff over the
last week was pretty mild: today's paper mentioned that Microsoft
has put a triple-fix on line for the bugs discovered in IE but that's
about all--that company has got to have some of the best damage
control in the universe!
