Last year I bought Teradyne when it fell from 50 to 42. 1k sh. Then it went to 35, another 1k sh, then 30, another. By the time it reached 16 I had accumulated 10k shares. Then investors decided they like Teradyne. It went up 4-fold. I sold the last a couple months ago at 59. That worked out very well. Of course I lost much of the profits shorting amzn.
