As an follow-up to my last post, note that in my region DSL has ADDITIONAL ISP charges which range from $10 to $80 per month (the higher the speed the more the ISP costs are). See chart at bell-atl.com for details.

There are more ISP options than @Home has (of course, people are buying such services for the bandwidth and not the ISP), but it will potentially (depending on the DSL provider) allow you to use AOL for your ISP. @Home gives you minimal content, but they may be changing as they integrate Excite into their operation.

When totaling up all the costs for DSL make sure you have fresh batteries in your calculator: DSL monthly fees, ISP monthly fees, connection/set-up charge, modem purchase, turn-key internal wiring, etc...

It was a no-brainer for me, but good luck in your decision making process.
