A lot of Cornell alumni I know are converting from Macs to PC's because of obvious reasons. <What's Merced supposed to dissipate on 0.18 micron, anyway? You know that all of IBM's newest S390s are liquid cooled, right? Big Iron, or Big Silicon (TM Paul E.) tolerates exotic cooling methods to get the utmost performance. Of course, you'd rather not if you don't have to, i.e., go liquid.> I don't know. Merced's power dissipation hasn't been officially announced anyway.
