Not a tech expert but
... as a consumer product the Nomad is really sexy, looks wise.
Certainly similar to the MD player on this front.
Nomad won't skip.
It will download straight from the web
It will allow you to compress from your CD audio
not sure about length of play. Depends on mode of recording I think.
Anyway, why would you need 10 hours of play ?

Regardless of how paranoid the media industry is, they cannot stop piracy en masse. In any case, if you record your CD audio into MP3 for your own use, it is NOT piracy.
The media industry is about to be forced to find a new business model or risk marginalization.

Bottomline ? MP3 is much better positioned than the MD player to succeed.
