PRNewswire - 08:18 a.m. May 24, 1999 Eastern

CHICAGO, May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines (NYSE: UAL)
today announced that it is delivering United flight status information to the
new Palm VII(TM) connected organizer, enabling users of 3Com's newest
handheld organizer to retrieve the most up-to-date arrival and departure
information on current-day United flights via a direct connection to
United's online reservations system.

The Palm VII organizer is the first handheld solution for out-of-the-box
wireless Internet access. In addition to providing fast and simple access to
personal and business information, it provides customized access to
leading Internet sites, including ABCNews.com, ESPN.com, E*TRADE,
MasterCard, Visa, The Wall Street Journal Interactive and Yahoo!, and
enables e-commerce transactions and instant two-way messaging.

"We're pleased to be partnering with a great brand like United to provide
valuable content to Palm VII users," said Joe Sipher, director of wireless
products for Palm Computing. "United's application is an excellent
addition for Palm VII users because it will allow business travelers to track
flight status directly from the source."

"The availability of flight status on the Palm VII organizer extends our
efforts to deliver real-time information to our customers and puts us at the
leading edge of Internet technology," said Mark Koehler, Director of
Electronic Distribution for United Airlines. "Now travelers can not only
book airline travel, shop fares and check flight status on our Web site from
their PCs, but also determine whether United flights are on schedule
directly from their handheld organizers."

United Airlines leads the airline industry in online ticket sales through its
Web site, www.ual.com.
