DJ Hertz Technology Unit To Use Redback Networks System NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Hertz Technology Group Inc.'s (HERZ) RemoteIT.com unit will deploy Redback Networks Inc.'s (RBAK) Subscriber Management System 1000. RemoteIT.com provides network and Internet services. In a press release Monday, Hertz said RemoteIT.com will use the SMS 1000 to deliver digital subscriber line access to value added resellers and outsource service providers. The SMS 1000 is an intelligent networking device that connects high speed access equipment in the telco Central Office or cable/wireless head-end, with service provider backbone routers. Hertz designs and assembles personal computers and related products. Redback, Sunnyvale, Calif., makes advanced networking systems that allow high-speed access to the Internet. --Bill
