Well, yes and no. Yes, it does affect all modems, but if there are things that need to be created by Microsoft, you certainly want to be first in line. I think the issue here is how this is all defined. Suppose Westell pitched to Microsoft some very CAP oriented definitions. This is not an unrealistic scenario. There are plenty of differences between CAP and DMT that could cause problems here. It pays to be making the definitions, and not following them, and this is why standards are so important.-db
