WorldGate has a damn good PR firm, and has put a favorable spin on this patent. You will notice they make it sound a lot more extensive then it really is. In a WorldGate environment you will have the ability to jump back and forth from television to the web, which is not a bad thing. ACTV on the other hand owns the convergence of the television and the internet, and has the patented capability to display both simultaneously, not to mention chat and e-commerce capabilities. Our Individualized technology is a completely different type of interaction and has little if anything in common with WorldGate.

Thus far WorldGate's stock price has been unaffected by this news.

Quote from article ''An example of the Channel HyperLinking technology would be a person watching the Super Bowl who wanted to instantly access an Internet site to buy a commemorative T-shirt mentioned during the halftime ceremony,'' explained Krisbergh. ''The viewer would use the Channel HyperLinking button to get to the site, make his purchase, then return to the game.''

Can you imagine taking 10-15 min. out of the super Bowl to go to a web site and buy a T-Shirt. With HyperTV your info is already in the data-base server, so all you do is point click and you own it.....
