By Thom Calandra, CBS MarketWatch Last Update: 10:33 AM ET May 24, 1999 Thom Calandra's StockWatch Is Books-A-Million (BAMM: news, msgs), the once high-flying Alabama bookseller, a sympathy play on Barnes & Noble.com (BNBN: news, msgs), which will price its new shares Monday evening? That's what investors are saying on the Iternet bulletin boards Monday. Barnes & Noble is hoping to raise about $300 million. The Barnes & Noble offering would raise more money for an Internet company than any U.S. initial offering in history. Books-A-Million at 8 1/2 or so is about a jillion percent from its November high of 47.
