I think that this is not very credible.

Either AMD is absolutely insane and are not willing to provide latest K7's to the 4-5 hardware benchmarking sites or the K7 still has bugs.
The hype would be much better if these sites had final silicon and were just hinting - such as 10 more days before they can release data on the killer K7.

I tend to believe that the "final" K7 is still somewhere early in the manufacturing pipe.

And Ashoks comments are not helpfull. He may well have sources within the company who have told him that "final" rev parts are not yet out and so he comes with his release commenting on AMD screwing up again on the K7.
