O/T The Dow Jones Timer says today:
"Commentary: Several elements are now showing a tendency for the Dow Jones Industrials Index to initiate a downward movement. The rise in interest rates (now the 30 year T-Bill rate is around 5.93%) and the reduction in the money supply (M3) are demonstrating to us that the cash available for equity markets is not limitless. The slower the money supply, the less cash becomes available for credit or for any form of investment. The widening of the trade deficit is also a variable which traditionally has had adverse effects on the stock market. But on top of that, the weak hands are coming into the markets (the number of new individual online accounts - people which have never traded before - have soared by 22% in the first quarter only), whereas the strong hands (the institutions) are increasing their fixed income positions and investing less in stocks. All these elements
combined are telling us that the markets are somehow overvalued and that it would be a good strategy for the wise investor to
lighten his stock positions. SELL your stocks while it is still time. Your chances of buying them back cheaper sometime in the
future are very high."
