Yah, and Orion has one of those fuzzy lights in it, that is a galaxy. And you can see the Milky Way, as looking into a disk, and the darkened portions are dust and gas in the way. Stardust. It's a big mess of stuff, the Milky Way is.
I always want them to move that dust and then put it back.
I remember an explanation about light and stars as to why the night sky isn't white, but I don't think I got it. I think it was about the physics of light, instead of the dust obscurance.
Because the universe is so densely starred, everywhere you are looking, night and day, is all stars. A solid background of star surfaces.
And if that Galaxy in Orion we can see is M81 ~ is that right Lather? ~ It's one of _________ I forget how many lights we can see here without telescopes, that are from outside our stars. Way, way, far away.
The Pleides are cool too, like ice, and might have another. I used to know this stuff, because I looked, but, you know. Then I got old. And in Oregon, if you look up, all you'll see are wet spots on your glasses. |
