A panel of experts agrees: zero margins is a dog of a business model, and a company like Buy.com will be a loser in the long run.

I'm a non-expert and I disagree; I think buy.com will be long term successful. For better or worse, knowing a site has the lowest price with good service makes it faster to order what you need to order. If they have the bulk of the business, they should be able to do well. I can't wait to find out what their revenues are; they may very likely already sell more than Amazon.com. Does anyone here know?
