I've been looking for a thread on Tek for awhile I've held their stock
for several years. This stock is stock that I bought at a discount
while employed there. IMHO show up and fight is exactly what Tek needs to do. Gone are the days when howard invented the scope and they could expect to be in a business that nobody else is in.

As for color printers yes they have a market leadership position in the niche market they have chosen. What tek needs to do if they are going to make some serious$$$ is take the printer technology and get it into a broader market than their chosen niche markets. They make no secret the fact that they are afraid of competition by continually reffering that their products seek high margin niche markets. These are also known as low volume=low dollars markets.
As for video technology yes they have been a leader in this area for years. However it seems like to me that Tek does all the hard work and Hollywood makes all the money. Oh yes once a year Hollywood ships Tek an emmy for a job well done. As a shareholder I'd rather see some return on my investment than hear about emmies.

All input seems to fall on deaf ears as far as upper manangement at the company is concerned. It seems that as long as they can keep pumping out snapshots of good performance in some quarters while downplaying their lack of ability to keep up with industry the Brass will be able to continue the justification of their undeserved high salaries.

In conclusion, I'm happy this thread is here communication among shareholders is the only thing that will reign in the uncontrolled management who will milk this till its dead if the shareholders let them. For a million bucks a year and nobody watching most people probably would do the same. I say if top manangement can't show sustained performance then throw the bums out. This company has good people and good technology but management just seems to be unable to do anything with it!
