Thank you for honestly expressing your views on Tony Robbins and NLP as something that can assist traders in moving through some of their emotional challenges.
When I first started doing Tony's work I was also skeptical. That skepticism would have remained had I not taken the past several years to exercise them in both a rigorous manner and setting. To use the word dramatic to express the changes that have taken place in my life and in those of others would be an example of understatement. The validity of the aforementioned techniques has been confirmed by the changes that have occurred while working as a weekly volunteer at the NH State Prison for Women.
If it may be of value to anyone, I would be delighted to post prisoner letters of their transformations. I am dedicated to making their lives better, and all that I coach as traders. I have chosen to focus my energies on the latter in this forum, as that is the reason most of you are here.
While Tony has provided me with valuable foundation skills, I continually search for additional references in the matter, such as Bandler – of course, learning is an endless process. Furthermore, learning takes place through the eyes of the learner and each one of us creates differing interpretations of similar materials. Hopefully we are here to admire content, not speakers, and ideas, not necessarily their originators.
Much of the aforementioned may provide a security blanket with which to assess forthcoming statements – to dispel some of the preconceptions that occasionally cloud our judgement. This information was meant to be substantive in nature on its own merits. The information I am posting is meant to have value in a stand-alone fashion, free of charge.
To further delineate my intent, I have removed my web address from the thread.
I have complete and unbounded respect for the opinions of all Silicon Investor readers, and know they will hold me to a high standard, and I welcome that. One takes a chance in doing such a step, and I am willing to go for it!
If this information doesn't work for you, great, then you have the choice of not reading it again. My message is, simply put, that if one message or one posting helps just one trader save money, make their trading easier, or improve their life, then I will be satisfied. I certainly never thought by starting this tread I would satisfy all that read it – my words come from personal experiences that I have been fortunate enough to have; that will never be one-size-fits-all.
Those that search for more understanding and wisdom will find it. Van K Tharp's work is excellent.
