Well according to what I understand Jane will get in. It's because we are not justified by our works or worth in God's eyes but by our faith alone.

Sidney, do you really believe this or are you interpreting Jane et al. for us? This sounds like the Presbyterian doctrine of the "elect" who are saved, which, btw, always seemed terribly grim to me.

If there is an all-knowing God, surely our worth in such a God's eyes is all that could possibly matter. Such a God would know, even when we falter in faith (consider Thomas) and even when we are wrestling with moral and emotional dilemmas, who of us is of good heart and seeking always to do good. Such a God would know that true goodness of heart and spirit is rampant among people who are unbelievers and who find "Christians" disturbing when they are represented by people like chris.

That's why, I suppose, that christians receive so much ridicule. Many of us seem so undeserving. Well, we are undeserving and many are down right stupid and obnoxious. I am not implying that about my dear Jane though. We don't deserve anything. It's an unmerited gift.

I remember once saying to my husband, when he was ranting on about "justice," that none of us could withstand that perfect scrutiny in God's eye. We pray for mercy.
