Gateway win...

V3 3000 is not a standard option across the line. You need to custom configure. 400 & 500 Mhz computers base is TNT with upgrade to V3 3000 at +$20. 550 Mhz computer base card is TNT2 and <grin> upgrade </grin> is a -$50 credit. 550 Mhz upgrade to TNT2 Ultra is +$60 (TNT2 Ultra ONLY available with 19in or 21in monitor!)

I think this is where we are going to see the integrated model shine... Unless i'm adding wrong there is a $110 swing between V3 3000 and TNT2 Ultra, and a $50 swing with TNT2. Flipping the numbers around a little... The cheapest Diamond 770 TNT2 Ultra I found was $198 ... subtract the $110 difference and that would translate to a lowest street price of the V3 of $88!! The lowest V3 street that I found was $139, a difference of $50!! All hail the integrated model!!

The only thing that I don't like is that it is not made easy to select the V3. Unless you dig and intentionally select to custom configure, I don't think that you'll cross the V3. The big question is how are the telephone sales and store sales going to treat the V3, if they like it, it will sell well... and the trick would be educating these folks, especially considering the price difference.

Should be an interesting win but I would like to see the V3 as standard equipment.
