Chuz, I have stated that it is wise to go slowly on this issue. But similar processes occur in nature. Viruses can and do insert new genetic information into the cells that they infect, and I understand that bacteria do too, not so. This is clearly a genetic change imposed by a different species.

I am not making a judgement on whether genetic engineering is right or wrong, only that we need to acknowledge that nature does it too. Also, the end results of our engineering are just as subject to selective forces as those that occur naturally.
