July is the best summer month
"Last 48 years July was up 14 times on the Dow in first 17 years, down 14 in next 22, and up 7 straight until 1996's loss:: July fifth best in SP 500, up 1.3% on average since 1950:: Best Julys were 1989 (Dow up 220.6, SP up 9.0%) and 1997 (Dow up 549.82, SP up 7.8%):: Great Julys (up 3% or more) during bull markets invariably precede better buying opportunities sometime in the fall:: Four big losers 1969, 1974, 1975 and 1986: down 6.0%, 7.8%, 6.8% and 5.9%"
Also noted in journal First month of First three quarters is the most bullish (Jan, Apr, July)
