The main reason I bought Q was the prospects of everyone running around with phones using not only for voice but for data, full motion video. etc etc. Would you or someone else be so kind to expand on the below and address if we should be concern about it.

<< Wireless data : reality check

LU GSM solution is too slow 64kbp

64kbps here, 86 kpbs there.... lets stop and think what these figures mean.

1. From the network viewpoint, there is a finite cell capacity. Every 13kpbs (or so) of data rate one uses means is one less voice subscriber, so right off the bat, a 64kbps data service will cost at least 5 times whatever you are paying now for voice service.

2. Data services such as CDPD have been available for 'phones since 1996 . They have been stunningly less than successful, because of
limited screen and browser capability.

Putting the two together - you buy your Palm/Pdq xyz for what? say 600$ then pay through the nose for web access.

Ain't going to happen folks, not when the network providers can scalp customers for voice services.>>>
