art: I don't get the WSJas it is yesterdays news although some people tend to act on it. Please reread my post. Rather than sit on cash as cash MSFT has put it to work gaining leverage in an area where they hope to sell their high margin software. They are not looking to become common carriers but rather purveyors of software to the Common carriers as the new broadband market emerges and grows at a very healthy pace. They are doing this to promote more rapid growth in a field where innovation normally comes glacially. There use of cash to date has been rewarded with much better returns than if the $ had been left in T Bills. MSFT is in the content and software business not the hardware business. The market is missing out on a big opportunity to buy MSFT at a big discount. As it has in the past it will. WIn2000,Office 2000 are cash cows - big time.

I own IATV but it will never be a MSFT.

Good Luck reading the Journal,

JFD
