Not Necessarily True,
As prices for DSL are expected to come down as of course demand increases. DSL was seen as a threat sooner than later in the SOHO and Personal user markets. There are benefits over Cable. I for one have my own personal ADSL line through Bellsouth. Benefits, Designated line, no squeeze on Bandwidth, less down time. My speed is faster than Cable at 1.250 mbps and will not decrease. Bandwidth on cable has not been tested by large data traffic as of yet, it is well know that this will slow data transmission on Cable Lines. I tried the @Home service at my local Comp USA and my line is faster. Also, there is new technology for ADSL, DSL, SDSL etc. that cuts way down on the hardware required to get this service up and running, hence $$$ savings to all providers = market penetration = more home users. As more people get on Cable so goes the bandwidth. AOL is also looking at DSL,this is a HUGE consumer market RIGHT. These regulatory factors will increase cost burden on DSL providers and slow the whole process down for DSL. So yes................ this does help CMTO.
