Red Herring article on competing handhelds (good article but note comment on CDMA): ...More proof: the commotion over Qualcomm's PDQ, essentially a cellular phone grafted onto a custom-built PalmPilot. With the PDQ, you can call anyone in your address book with a single tap and synchronize everything with your PC over the air. More important, it has wireless Web and email access. While I find composing long emails tedious using the PalmPilot's handwriting recognition technology, it's acceptable for quick messages. Unfortunately, the wireless data services rely on Code Division Multiple Access cellular service... redherring.com
