Okay, how about the fact that if you owned Tandy, your split beeper would have gone off this morning <g>:

Tandy Corp. sets 2-for-1 stock split

NEW YORK, May 25 (Reuters) - Tandy Corp.<TAN.N>, which owns or franchises over 7,000 Radio Shack stores, said on Tuesday its board declared at two-for-one stock split.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based retailer has about 96.2 million common shares outstanding. The new shares will be distributed on June 21 to shareholders of record as of June 1.

"We believe the Board of Director's action to approve a stock split is an indication of their confidence in Tandy/RadioShack's longer term prospects," Chairman and Chief Executive Len Roberts said in a statement.

Tandy's stock closed at $76.06 on Monday. Its closing price on the last day of 1998 was $41.19.
