edamo: I agree with a lot of what you say. Yet, I believe DELL truly pioneered the concept of going direct to the customer. They have borrowed some core principles from Demming and from others. This has helped them develop a culture of constant improvement and allows them to seize new opportunities effectively. DELL is not invincible. Yet, the company is healthier than most realize.
