Mel, the REALLY BIG ONE is, of course, the one speculated to break California from the mainland, and perhaps reduce western California to sand, as it were. The other, to which I referred, is statistically predictable in the Bay Area about every 88 years, and I have no idea if it varies on intensity...I know it is serious stuff--- I knew a couple of people who sustained severe losses in the St. Francis district after the last one. I don't know what faults are involved. You are, however, safe for the time being....
