We have added amendments to the Constitution, but your scenario would pretty much involve removing one.

A large proposition, confiscating 200 million firearms. My question is would the troops carry out their orders? That is a valid question also.

Pendulum is swinging in favor of more controls, and is an undeniable trend. Probably some candidate will make it a one issue vehicle, either pro or con in quest for office/power.

So my answer is if I still have the Right to Bear Arms, no, I would not willingly give it up. If the Second Amendment is removed from the Constitution, (unlikely IMHO-how safe would you feel if you were a legislator who voted it out) I would have to re-think my situation and alternatives (i.e where else I could live.)
