Paul - RE: "I attended the K6 launch - at AMD's headquarters - on April 2, 1997. Got a swell T- Shirt !"

So were you a Believer back then?

"Careful reading of the AMD "data" showed clearly that the K6 - while a decent entry - was not going to be an Intel Killer - despite Sander's "SNEAK DEMO" of a 0.35 micron 266 MHz K6 that NEVER MADE IT TO PRODUCTION."

Well, AMD is again showing off a MHz above Intel's, but this time, there have been reports that yields on that chip are actually BETTER than expected. This is an important difference.
