There are some individuals who have postulated theories that the declaration of Martial Law would, in effect, cause the U.S. Constitution to become null and void. The increasing hysteria associated with Y2K contingencies have contributed to these fears. As to whether or not U.S. troops would carry out orders to confiscate firearms, I believe that many of them would if they were convinced that armed citizens represented a threat to national security (in the form of domestic terrorism).

I sincerely believe that the anti-gun sentiments, based in no small part on the liberal influence in Washington, will continue to be propagated to the point that confiscation will become a viable option. The voluntary surrendering of privately owned firearms will probably precipitate any orders for confiscation.

Things will become much worse before Americans are truly considered free again.
