there's more to life than techs and nets. i am trying to remind myself of that. The tops nets are great long term plays caught in a swift and deep downturn. Dell and other box makers are facing another challenge, that of lower margins caused by the cheapie (and very good) low priced puters available today. this is a trend that will only continue imo. Am looking to other sectors. FTU was a gift today, i think, hope, CD is strong, PEP is safe with potential. MAT looks attractive, ALK and LUV and U nice in airlines. bot a little ibm for the split. it ran from 225 to 245, came back to 222. we'll see. luck all. UMG a great way to get into T. USW at 53 is decent. TWX at 66-68 is cheap and CBS in low 40's is attractive. don't get in too deep and don't try to catch up by going into margin. jmho. larry
