Paul - RE: "That's a real SHOW of Support for the Mobile K63 - one Vendor - Compaq - to ship something later this quarter."

You are in DENIAL Paul.

When the K6-2 notebook chip came out, I believe Compaq was the only OEM. Since then, Toshiba and IBM have started to use them. Now, AMD mobile chips made up 30.2% of the RETAIL and mail order market in April compared to 18.5% in March. That is a 63.2% GAIN in only ONE month!!!

And REALIZE this - since the mobile K6-III is higher priced, it will be competing directly against the PII - PE, an arena AMD hasn't visited yet. That means that EVERY K6-III notebook sold is one PII -PE notebook chip Intel DOESN'T sell.
