BLT-

Been off the thread for a while. Sometimes I think PiMac was sent here by the Department of Dirty Tricks, Web Division, of the White House in order to divert this thread from its real mission.

Did anyone catch the man on Sunday Morning TV Talk show- CBS ?- featuring a man who had been head of the Department of Energy's Intelligence Division? He was removed from that position- essentially demoted- because he had tried to pursue Chinese spying on our nuclear facilities. What I found particularly galling was when he asked some broad- an Assistant Secretary of the DOE or some such thing- why he was being removed, she responded that he was pushing a politically dangerous agenda and was playing into the hands of such Clinton's enemies. Extraordinary. Somebody in a responsible position tries to uncover one of the worst security lapses of post WWII American, and the Clintonistas can see no further than their political skins. In fairness, the guy seemed to think that Secretary Richardson, when he got involved, showed appropriate concern.

I found that quite in the vein of certain morons on this thread who could only see some Republican "witch-hunt" during the impeachment proceedings. But it is disturbing that people in responsible positions in this corrupt administration place national security at risk with their self-serving view that something that puts the President Sleazebag in an unfavorable light should be bureaucratically throttled. Of course, I suppose I can understand how one particular such moron might feel that way. After all, I understand that goddesses would not be affected if they are situated at ground zero of a nuclear attack. But for mere mortals, well it's completely unconscionable, and a gross dereliction of duty, that they care so little about the future that they jeopardize the security of Americans out of some idiotic, paranoid sense of loyalty to their little sleazebag president. But that's the kind of administration- and electorate to support it- that we have in this country.

Larry

P.S. Oh yes, I almost forgot. During the CBS(?) interview- and I know this will shock some- it came out that either Sandy Berger or Sleazebag Bill did not tell the truth. Berger told Congress he had briefed the president sometime well before this year on Chinese spying or our nuclear labs. But Bill said he first heard about it in January of this year. Anyone in favor of firing Berger for mendacity?
