Hey Bald Man - haven't talked to you in ages. Still got that same old girlfriend?? I'm not in any nets, but do lurk occasionally.

I saw this on another thread and didn't know if you'd seen it. If true, could explain big drops past few days on internet stocks. Sure hope it's NOT true. Then again, it has been discussed off & on in Washington D.C. - so who knows? Battle of the lobbyists in D.C. - telecomms vs. the nets.

I just can't believe something like this could pass. It would really cut internet usage. Even I would be forced to cut back. For a couple of months I was forced to use AOL while I resettled during a recent move. Lots of mid-size towns/cities don't have direct access locally. Access number might be 20 miles away in another area code. I learned the hard way about how this works. My phone bill was $800-900+ ... two months in a row ... just for those d*mn long distance charges. Freaked me out.

Suggest you all follow this guys advice ... just in case. Good luck to you.

CNN reported that in the next two weeks, Congress is going to vote on allowing telephone companies to charge for Internet access. That means, every time we make a long distance e-mail we will receive a long distance charge. This will get costly.
