Meanwhile, in Japan, I've got an IDO brochure listing all the models and cdmaOne stuff, along with my model Toshiba handset.
Here are some details:
There are 6 models,Hitachi 82g, Sony 88g, Kyocera not stated,Toshiba 84g, Sanyo 95g and Panasonic is the smallest, weight not stated, but 115mm instead of 130mm for the others. I guess it would be a bit lighter and 69g is possible by the look of it. It's all in Jap and I can't read anything. Talk time and standby times are about 2hr and 330 hr.
These are smaller and lighter, by a long way, than the ThinPhone at 120g. Japan must have wall to wall base stations to enable small handsets.
I can't imagine Japanese being too keen on the 1812 Model Globalstar handsets with the Cannon Aerial. They like little.
