George,
REITs were much stronger than the market the last few days, even though they hit the upper bounds of the envelopes and put in a mild double top. I wouldn't be surprised to see the RMS back up to 312 one more time before turning on the afterburners. What do you think will happen in the next 1-4 weeks? I can't get much of a reading and am buying only 10% pullbacks. MHX had strong support today at 21-1/2.
An interesting stock that I have no information on is HT. Raised the dividend to .18 from .13, but I can't find any earnings yet. I would hope the dividend would be safe at the level, but one can never tell.
Did you follow through with COPI? Here's a risky small cap, that I jumped into today at 20-9/16. KIDE. biz.yahoo.com
In addition to some Southpark, and WWF license revenues, I think they have the next Ninja Turtle fad on their hands POKEMON. It seems every 6-8 year old around here has a new favorite TV show. They are just beginning to ramp things up, and earnings grew more than 100% last quarter from .05 to .13. If POKEMON stays hot, it could easily drive earnings past .50 in just a few quarters, as they made the .13 on just over $3.2 million in revenues.
"The Company has exclusive representation rights for Pokemon for merchandise licensing, movie and television distribution outside of Asia. The Company's Summit Media subsidiary licensed 64 episodes of the Pokemon television series to the Kids! WB network in January 1999. The animated television series was introduced in September 1998. The show, which is produced by the Company's 4Kids Productions subsidiary, currently airs in syndication five days per week and on Saturdays as one of the anchors of the Kids' WB Saturday morning lineup. In September 1999, Kids' WB will begin airing Pokemon eleven times a week. Since Pokemon joined the network in February 1999, Kids' WB has experienced its highest ratings. Pokemon has become the No. 1 rated kids show in the country in both syndication and network. "
It's already run a tremendous amount this year, but this feels like a fad that will gain a lot of momentum soon.
Richard
