Well, I am not evenhalf way through all the MDA posts from today yet but I am forgeting who I want to answer so I will take a half time break and address you since you had two I want to respond to.

You stated you hoped the Biotechs hopefully would be smarter than Monsanto. How many medical treatments over the years were found to be more harmfull than helpful due to ignorance. Will we ever know all as to the mechanics of the human body? Leaching was thought to remove bad blood, faith healing first was a joke, then thought of as a religious only phenominon now that is being studied as a psycological probability due to chemical responses of the brain releasing needed anti-bodies etc. Electrocution was a thing in Frankensteinmovies and now saves heart attack victims etc etc.

In internet's future, what will be the transmission winner for internet? DSL, cable modem, wireless, power lines (being tested in UK,, made by Canada) or something not even invented yet? Imagine that wireless wins and one company gets a monopoly, is this good? What happens if 10 years later, they find out that all the transmissions of internet and cellular phone signals is giving the entire world cancer and it is this companies fault? How many radio waves are going through your body right now?

As to internet feeding the future growth for the new paradigm, I believe it was Don that pointed out that since internet is open to ANYONE, that overseas competitors could deal direct to the american consumer with lower cost products and level the playing field as to who is dominant. Imagine a real competitor to GE, MSFT, PG, GM, Monsanto, whatever. What will happen if the laundry detergent you pay 4 bucks for can be shipped to you direct for $1.00 saving youalso a trip to the store? What will that do to these companies earnings such as PG or Albertsons.... their stock price .... the Index.... the GDP of the US .... etc.

The internet will be won by someone we haven't heard of yet just like software was won by a harvard dropout that IBM was not interested in. AT&T was begged twice by the US government to take over control of the internet but they saw no future in it.<ggg> I can't think of his name but he is the brains behind SUNW, saw the internet hooking everyone up someday in the future and programmed language into UNIX software that had nothing to do with the internet back in the 70s. It is these school age visionarys that will be the winners in the future.

It is also probably these companies will rise out of the ashes of the coming bear market as penny stocks no one cares about and that we will be pondering in our old age that we could have bought the next MSFT when it was a nickel. <ggg>

As to resterants vs internets. I have never heard of anyone paying $5000.00 for a hamburger because they thought it would be the next MCD. <ggg> Yes, more resterants fail than internets so far, but people don't pay millions for a diner before they make a profit on their first tax return.

New Paradigm, everytime I doubt that we will ever have a bear and maybe all the talking heads are right, I look up my posts warning the DELL heads that the era was coming to an end and their responses... Then I look at a long term chart of the DOW, ... then I look at the Nikkei, then the DOW, then the Nikkei...

I was just recalling the chat session Sunday night where someone chastised us for being all cash. Wonder how he is doing tonight????? I know I slept well last night.

EDIT and DAniel Joo - thanks for the reminder
>>Kosovo and China could take a turn for the worse<<
With all the stuff in the news about Clinton giving away aka selling nuclear secrets for campaign contributions whereas at least they were just covertly stolen in prior administrations, remeber what Clinton's response has beento every other event that made him look bad. Considering we can't bomb Iraq much more and we are already bombing Kosovo, we are running out of airplanes... I guess he will start a thermo nuclear war to get the press off his back this time <ng>

Good Luck,

Lee
