The Sixties that we think of as "special", replete with drugs, sexual experimentation, hippie tribalism, the New Left, and so forth, some people did indeed get "caught up in". For most people the Sixties were "Laugh- In" and George Carlin on "The Flip Wilson Show" doing his "Hippy- dippy Weatherman" routine. So yes, most people lived through them...
