Tom, <The US can't take any NZ land until the Europeans stop beefing about our hormone laden beef. The funny thing is that the real problem with livestock isn't how much hormones the US uses on cows it is that the Europeans use too many antibiotics on livestock and the resistance builds up. There is actually science supporting this problem (unlike the European criticism of hormones diated meat). >
Having eaten Belgian meat, I can confirm it is tasteless and disgusting. They must feed it on hormones, antibiotics, and some weird grains or other dietary stuff which is probably cheap. Yukk!
It's taste, not science.
Your 'countries as factions' is the most accurate description of the reality. I'd take it further and call it countries as fractals. Organized chaos is how most human things work.
As you say, this is about Taiwan, not China's concern for some refugees in Kosovo.
I suspect your tennis pal is right = the Serbs are amazed they are being bombed for stopping criminal terrorists. People seem particularly blind to their own countries or families doing horrible things. Parents continue to think their [adult] children the apple of their eye long after they have been locked up for rape, pillage, cruelty, robbery and mayhem. "Well, young men will get over-excited at times". "He was under pressure". Same with countries. Well, Lt Calley was under stress and those kids did look like Gooks. But hey, those vicious Serbs ethnicly cleaning are some bad dudes. {Or does bad dudes mean good guys in rap parlance}
Mqurice [that's it - don't write to me anyone - do it PM. I'm gone. Whew, they say....]
PS: Thanks for the giggle Ramsey...<I wouldn't worry too much about China. Don't forget they stole all the CIA maps. All their missiles are now aimed at random targets.> |
