Hmmm. I guess the "big call-buyers" must be buying off-board options which hasn't been done to my knowledge since 1973. The option activity today in these stocks was normal unless there is an OTN option market that is operating secretly Over-the-Net. That is likely because the SEC is too busy looking for Robert Vesco and can't find resources to address trivial considerations. They do have their priorities.
