OT Hi Mark: What are you doing this early? I am on the Wesy Coast but a friend of mine called from Asia and talked for 2 1/2 hours that kept me up all night. You heard about Mayo who downgraded 4 major banks to SELL. One of the reason was Y2K. Granted that American and European banks have tackled that problem, but what about Asian countries. US banks have large exposure in that region. Do you think that Y2K is their primary concern while their economy is in turmoil: inflation, unemployment etc. Would anyone think that Boris Yeltsin care about Y2K right now? Many regions of the world owe US banks a lot of money, and come Y2K see if interest payments are kept current, see if maturing debts are repaid, intentionally or otherwise. As a matter of fact Y2K could be used as an excuse. Sorry for my rambling in the wee hours of the night. With best reagrds Paul
